What we build

Three trades, one contractor, one phone number

Most homeowners end up juggling a roofer, a siding company and a mason, then refereeing between them when something does not line up. Mac Construction runs all three in house. Mike quotes the job, Mike is on the job, and the same outfit that strips your roof can wrap the house and pour the walkway out front.

  • 01 / ROOF Newly installed rubber flat roof and house wrap on a home exterior tear off

    Roofing & Flat Roofing

Tear off, deck inspection, proper underlayment and flashing, then a clean site. Most single family roofs go on in a day.

    • Full roof replacement & tear offs
    • Leak tracing & storm repairs
    • Rubber roofing for low slope
    • Flashing, valleys & roof detail work
    • Commercial flat roof systems
  • 02 / EXT Carpenter installing house wrap over new framing on a timber framed covered structure

    Siding & Carpentry

We strip the old exterior, fix what is rotted underneath, wrap it properly, and finish the trim so the details still read right up close.

    • Full exterior strip & re-side
    • House wrap & moisture detailing
    • Framing & rough carpentry
    • Trim, entry doors & finish work
    • Porches, pavilions & additions
  • 03 / MAS Wide bluestone steps and walkway framed by natural stone retaining walls

    Masonry & Hardscape

Flatwork, stone and brick. Compacted base, real drainage, joints where they belong, and a finish that still looks right in year ten.

    • Stamped & decorative concrete
    • Paver patios & pool surrounds
    • Bluestone & concrete walkways
    • Steps, stairs & retaining walls
    • Chimney repair & rebuilds

How it holds up

New England weather finds every shortcut

Freeze and thaw, salt air off the bay, and a hard winter will expose bad prep within two seasons. Almost everything that fails early traces back to one of these four things, so this is where the time goes.

Step 01

What is underneath

Concrete and pavers move when the base moves. We strip, fill and compact to a uniform bearing surface. On a roof, the deck gets looked at once the old layer is off, not guessed at from the ground.

Step 02

Where the water goes

Pitch, flashing and grade are all the same problem. Water gets pushed off the roof, away from the foundation and out of the patio, instead of finding the one low spot you learn about in the next storm.

Step 03

The parts you stop seeing

Underlayment, house wrap, control joints and reinforcement do not show up in a finished photo, and they are exactly what separates a ten year job from a three year one. We do not trade them away to hit a number.

Step 04

The day we leave

Nails picked up, forms pulled, landscaping put back the way we found it. Customers bring up the cleanup in review after review, which tells you how often the trade gets that part wrong.

Decorative & outdoor living

Backyards that get used, not just looked at

Stamped and colored concrete, paver patios and pool surrounds, covered pavilions and outdoor kitchens. Same crew, same base prep as a driveway, with a finish chosen to match the house instead of a catalog.

Remove & replace

When the slab has already lost the argument

Cracked, heaved and stained walkways can sometimes be repaired. Once the base underneath has failed, patching is money spent twice. This front walk and apron came out and went back in as one continuous pour.

Questions

Straight answers before you commit

How fast can I get an estimate?

Usually within one to two business days of your request, depending on how complex the project is. Estimates are free. Send the address, the service you need and rough dimensions and we can often price it without a site visit.

Do I need separate contractors for the roof, the siding and the masonry?

Not with us. Roofing, flat roofing, vinyl siding, carpentry and masonry are all in house. That matters most where two trades meet, like flashing into a chimney or siding that dies into a new stone veneer, because there is nobody to point at when the detail is wrong.

How long does the work actually take?

Most single family roof replacements are a one day tear off and install. A full exterior strip and re-side generally runs about a week. Concrete and hardscape depend on size and cure time, and we give you the specific window before we start rather than after.

Can you repair concrete and masonry instead of replacing it?

Often, yes. Cracked sections, settled slabs, damaged steps and failing chimney crowns can frequently be repaired for a fraction of a full replacement. Sometimes the honest answer is that the base underneath has already failed and replacing it is the cheaper decision over ten years. We will tell you which one you are looking at.

Do you take commercial work?

Yes. Commercial flat roofing, exterior renovations and hardscape for restaurants, property managers and businesses are a regular part of the schedule alongside residential work.

Are you insured, and who will be on my property?

Mac Construction is bonded, insured, family owned and locally run. Mike is the owner, he is the one who quotes the job, and he is on site with the crew doing it. You are not handed off to a call center or a subcontractor you never met.

Do you handle emergencies?

Yes, emergency service is available. If you have an active roof leak or storm damage, send the details through the quote form or reach out directly and we will get you in the queue.
